Which PSU to use...

I have two psu's:

a 400w one with 15 amps on 12v rail
a 300w one with 22.5 amps on 12v rail

Which should i use in my new pc? Neither have PCI-E power cables but i can get an adapter. I wont be SLI'ing or CF'ing anything and I wont be overclocking.
No LED's or cathodes in the case either.

I plan to be using a GeForce 9600gt or Radeon HD 4650
Should I just get a new PSU wiht PCI-E cables or will one of mine do fine?

NVidia recommends around 26A on the 12V rail for it to run smoothly but according to this site

it only uses 8A. I would much rather just buy a new PSU and have peace of mind. You don't want to stress a PSU either, it's better to get too big of a one and not have it fully loaded all the time. You can probably find a nice one for $40.

you are right, but not $40 australian money, that is about $25-30 US money, so that would be a massive waste of time even at power that low

This would probably be a safer bet to use on that 300W. Although I definitely won't perform up to the 9600GT. It would definitely be worth the money for a PSU upgrade to get a 9600GT imo.

What manufacture is the power supply? Amps and wattage arent all that matter. Plus with that amerpage on the +12v rail, sounds more like rubbage specs that some chinese company decided to put on the label...

It has 22.5 amps on 12v rail, got it for $30 au. Maybe so cheap because its micro atx. On the listing it said it was a rebadged seasonic brand? what does that mean?

I should be able to run a 9400gt with my trusty 300w psu according this in the ebay listing:

You do not need an 860W PSU to power a 9400GT. Depending on the rest of your system, I wouldn't even upgrade the PSU if you're just going to throw a 9400GT in there.

Neither of those PSU's have sufficient amperage or quality to run that system. You need a new psu.

well, it is a quality psu, that i know. the person i got it from had many more that were exactly the same.
I will be getting a new psu anyway.
