Which Smartphone/Plan?

Hi, im going to most likely be upgrading phones and or changing service providers in about two months and i had some phone questions. Currently i have a samsung intercept from virgin mobile and pay $25 a month. My internet quite working from them very early on and i have not been able to get them to fix it so i am basically paying 25 dollars a month for unlimited txting and 300min which is kinda a pain because i dont use any minutes hardly but i did like being able to picture message when i had internet and now i can't. I would really like to get a iphone 4s but im not sure if its going to be the most practical. I have a ipod touch 4th gen and love it and if i could have a phone i can use for everything that'd be sweet, but im having trouble justifying it since i already have the itouch 4. I guess what im really getting at is what is the going to be the best phone in the $200 range? I mainly use txting and data, not hardly any minutes. What plan is going to be the best deal too? from my research im liking the looks of sprint but how much does there 69.99 plan end up being a month after all the crap they tag on?

At Verizon and AT&T you can expect to pay $40 for 450 minutes (required), $25-$45 for 2-4GB of data, plus unlimited messaging at $20 per month. Sprint and T-Mobile have the cheapest plans, but also the worst coverage. I pay about $5 in taxes on my $60 plan.

Ya, im not to worried about coverage other than where i know ill need to have it at and iv already checked sprint to make sure they have coverage everywhere i need it. If you wanna see bad coverage take a look at the virgin mobile map. They'r coverage is rather sketchy yet i still have it everywhere i need it so and thing better shouldn't be a issue. After looking at all the phone options im still thinking iphone 4s but a htc evo of some sort might not be out of the question either at this point as i'm fine with android as well. Does anybody have any experience with using the iphone 4s as a pre-paid deal? Iv read that you can get a micro sim card online and then sign up for ATT go phone and use an iphone with that, the down side of course being you pay 650 for the iphone without the contract, but if'd be cheaper in the long run and there wouldnt be any compatibility issues i might consider that as well. Anybody have any suggestions/opinions on this?

I would wait for US Cellular to come out with 4G (in March) and get the Samsung Galaxy S II, coming soon also with the Samsung 10.1" tablet.

US Cellular is sure to have superb 4G coverage, they have most of their towers set for it, they're just doing their large amounts of testing that they do before they release to public, which is why I'm a pretty big fan of their service.

I did look at us cellular and it looked good but their coverage is very sketchy where i live. I just happen to be in a us cellular dead zone.

Northern Wisconsin. I wouldn't hesitate to sign up for sprint but i added up all the charges they say you might have to pay and its like a little over $100 a month for that $69 dollar plan, unless they dont actually charge you for everything they say they might but i find it hard to believe they wouldn't. Also i'v heard they like to tack on roaming charges but i didnt see where it said how much that was. I know when i was on a local mobile provider my 19.99 plan by the time i got rid of them was costing me like 39.99 to 49.99 a month which was absolutely ridiculous because i had 60min a month with unlimited txt and that was all i got for that.

oh yeah it does get spotty up there, i have taken mine up there a bit and once you get near the U.P. it's just crappy, but over by green bay and stuff it's great

Ya im about 2 hours north of Minneapolis on the Wisconsin side so much much further north than green bay. I'm thinking about sprint right now. Id really like that and i wouldn't have an issue if i knew exactly what they would charge me once a month. Does anybody have a smartphone and the 69.99 plan"or 79.99 plan technically since its on a smart phone" so they could tell me what they pay on average a month for it?

T-Mobile and Walmart have a deal with unlimited data, text, and 100 minutes for $30 with no contract.

Ya, right now i have virgin mobile which im only paying $25 a month and i have unlimited data/txt with 350min a month so im not going to bother switching to a different pre-paid deal unless its ATT gophone with a iphone, but i want something better, and something where whens theres a problem i can talk to someone who i can understand. Could anybody tell me what they pay on average a month for the 69.99 "79.99 for smartphones" sprint plan so i know what to exspect with that?

Sprint is pretty good, i've had them for around half a yr now! I only pay 80 for unlimited txt/pic mess.....500 min, hotspot, my phone allows me to connect up to 5 devices and sprint does not cut u off on gb per/month. I have the htc evo 3d 1.2ghz dual core. its not a bad phone. My mom doesn't have hotspot on her phone and pays 50-60 a month for same plan so ya its not bad plan!!!
