I never cheap my paste...trust me not all pastes are the same. I never tried Arctic Silver AA-14G but AS5 has never failed me so let us know how it works out for you.

Personally I would have called a local PC shop most sell the stuff and you can avoid shipping.

I get my AS5 here...total of 6.67 after shipping.

Newegg is not always the best site for certain stuff.

I will do that. The thing about buying the stuff from the local shop is that you get 1 gram for 3 bucks! that means to get 14G i have to pay $42!!!!!!!!!!!!

i pay 14 bucks for my stuff for 14g, thats shipped for ups 3 day garaunteed, or 11 for eg saver shipping.. i have 2 pay just over 20 bucks for this stuff, for 14G. Is it that much better?!?!?!?!

How many CPU's are you doing BTW?

Stop making faces at me. :P

Actually, rofl I ram out of the stuff i had (cheapo mascool) because my brother bought a new cpu the 5000+, which came dead. And we didn't have enough grease to put the CPU back into my computer:mad: Anyways, this will give me plenty uses, and it actually cost less over all doing it this way. That's why. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE LOCAL PC STORE SELLS 1 GRAM FOR 2.90 + tax!!!!!!!!! how? I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Other types of electrical componants/machinery use thermal paste on their heatsinks too...... I wonder if it's as good as the pastes supplied on computers and if it can be bought in more bulk:rolleyes:

There is a paste used for high-end industrial electronics that is suppose to blow away AS5 but its not cheap...and you gotta buy it in bulk since its not for individual use.

Sorta surprised they never put it tiny tubes to sell it...was reading a post long time back stating a 5-10c drop over AS5.
