Howdy, theres alot of different brands, types, etc, of thermal grease, and pastes. I dont want to buy the wrong type for my current build so I need advice.

Specs:
MoBo: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD 3500+ S939 NewCastle 2.2GHZ
HeatSink: Thermalright XP120
Fan: Panaflo 120mm

well,.. the thermal paste is just there to get a better connection between the cpu and the cooler block. because their surfaces arnt entyrely flat. just make shure u've got the right temperature range (would be about 20*C to 100*C)you can always use a higher range paste. but, you should use paste ure shure about its good.

the paste i use is CoolerMaster, and that stuff really works good. but i dont think it really matters. ;)

I'd imaging there are lots of good brands but I always use Artic Silver myself and swear by it :).

Uh. I was most likely going arctic silver *nodding*

This?, Paste at Newegg.com

I remembered reading some where that the different pastes have special make ups. etc. just didnt know if that mattered any *shrugs*

Thanks for the info guys/gals

That's the stuff. I think they might be up too artic silver 7 though... Most people use #5 but I don't know the diff...

that means it is okay not to use any paste or grease at all.

If that was a question, you should be using either paste or a pad: a direct contact via plain/bare HSF is not reccomended :)
