Who voted for that piece of S*** windows 98. That's the worst OS ever. Well actually it's better than Windows ME but that's beside the point.
 
Umm... i did.. maybe it wasnt too good ok since everyone around me is saying its cr*p i think I will come to my senses and say windows xp...
I have to admit last time i used it was when I was 8 years old...
 
I like XP but i would have to say it is the least compatble OS for all my old games

Those have got to be some OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOld games :P. only game I enjoy now and again with a bit of a prob would be Quake 2 but of course it instals like a charm with compatibility mode.
 
98se crashed every 30 minutes or so...

I have 4 words for you: Windows 95 Initial Release.

There are games that the compability settings can't make run, like Mechwarrior 2. Windows XP is such a bloated install, all versions of windows have been getting more and more bloated and I dont't know about anyone else, but I find that irritating.

You think XP is bloated? You should see the new windows coming out, Windows Longhorn. It's only in beta and already it is huge!
 
XP is bloated and I know Vista/Longhorn will be even more so, it's like I said

Sooner or later Vista will be the required OS if you want to use any modern software, so all I can do is turn off and remove silly GUI elements that make things look pretty and other 'happy user' items
 
good point dragon, and what about that windows edition that is for media computers? windows media center or something like that haha
 
its actually Windows XP Media Center 2005, its built off of Windows XP.


And i find windows XP to be the best, easiest interface, support for latest hardware, most drivers already installed, ect.
 
While I do love my 98SE, it's been a total bastard lately. I've had to reinstall it about eight times in the past month and a half. RRRRR. Due to the utter bastrosity recently exhibited by 98SE, and the fact that I'm feelin' really spiteful......*vote's 2000*.... There, that oughtta teach that rebellious son of a...

Almost forgot about good old media center. It's good for what its designed for but not much else. I suppose thats why they simply added it onto win XP and its easily changeable between the two. So really my votye has changed to mediacenter, because it has both win XP and the functionality of a digital media system as well.... BRILLIANT!!!
 
Well in the terms of stability, xp will lose definately
But its been 4 years of developements until vista was finaly released and i would go with xp, primarily because it has many functions of today and the universal operating system

thats mainly because XP tries to do too much to help out, as with win 2000 it did what was required and thats all, no fancy bells and whistles to cause problems.
