hello... i was told in a earlier post that the 5850 is perfect for me and my budget of 300$.

but my question now is the 5850 better than two 1 gb 5770's?

thx in advance

,nick

Yes and no. Some games will take advantage of Crossfire where as with games that are not compatible will only use one of the two cards, and in some cases performance will be worse. Your better off just sticking with one card unless your gaming above 1920 x 1080 respectively, and the 5850 is an awesome card.

thank you very much for your help.... one more question

this may sound really stupid.... but is Radeon a company or the type of card... becuase on new egg when i type in 5850 all these video cards come up with slightly different names but they all say Radeon 5850

for example XFX HD-585X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5850 1GB

and VisionTek 900297 Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1 GB

The Radeon GPU/chip on the cards are made by ATI. But the cards are made by different manufactures. With ATI stick with Sapphire/XFX/MSI/Gigabyte/HIS

I prefer Sapphire, the've been around for awhile and there build quality is way better then HIS or Visiontek. XFX cards are good as well, and they come with a lifetime transferable warranty. And don't waste your money on overclocked cards, save yourself the extra $20 and do it for free, it's basically foolproof with Catlyst Control Centre.
