ok so i got my pc,its just a budget pc that i build for under 500$,so i didnt go to expensive...

it has a 420watt psu in it...i would like to know if it could handle an 8800gt
ok so i just wanted it to play games in o.k. graphics, games like MOH and TDU nothing huge.
But now i want to upgrade this gcard because i want to get a little more out of this system.can i get an 8800GT(512mb if that makes a difference)in this system with a 420watt psu?

Please dont give any suggestions to go from this gcard to another,i specifically want this one because im not a hardcore gamer, but i want to to be able to play decent settings for a couple of years...

Basic specs
amd64 x2 5200 2.6ghz
4 gigs of 800mhz ram
500gig Drive.
just a standard asus motherboard
dvd/cd 20x burner
vista HP
8400gs 512mb :D

It will work fine, check out the 9800gtx + . Can be had for less than $200. I don't think an 8800gt would last you 2 years....

rofl, brentdou, no. It will never work, sorry. you will need at least 450, if its reallly good. And the 9800GTX about the same. however i would go for a 550, to be safe.

I wouldn't go for the 8800GT. It's a great card, but it's becoming obsolete. I just checked NewEgg, there are only about 2 or 3 different models still in stock. If you can find it maybe off of Ebay or something, you could go for it. Mine maxes Crysis Warhead in DX9 (aside from AA) and I get around 35 fps. So the card is good, but it's going to become harder and harder to get technical support on it if something goes wrong.
