as far as i know, the 7900GTO is almost as good as the 7900GTX, but the X1900 is better then the 7900GTX, but as of right now, im lost

and as of right now, the X1900XT looks ALOT better, but is $20 more, which means like atleast a week or so more that my computer will be MIA

OR save up for next month when the G80 is put out?

Hard choice between the X1900XT and waiting for DX10 cards. If you are into folding@home, you can use the X1900XT to fold with the new VPU client for ATI X19xx series cards. You'll get an amazing 440 points per day.

so should i look into DX10? and see if there is gonna be a cheap DX10 card?

I believe it would be more than a watch and wait scenario than a go and buy. You probably won't be able to determine the actual costs until further down the road. And Yes, it would be good to wait for DX10.

Who knows when the DX10 equivilent of the 7600GT will come out. Just sell that graphics card now while they are a sucker, buy yourself some POS card (PCI even) and wait for R600 or 8-series.

However, I voted X1900. I'd go with a 256MB version vs the nVidia 512 anyways. They always say not to let the extra memory compromise buying a superior chip.

I believe the ATI should be a little better... (Although I usually lean towards nVidia... :))

The main reason is because the GPU is slightly better, and the RAM clock speed is slightly higher as well...

I would say go with 7900GTO because there isn't any big difference between it and X1900xt but 7900GTO is much cheaper. The 7900GTO is better for the price.

Gto All The Way

Tho Im An Nvidia Fan

i wish they had that card back when i made my purchases
