Which way to go?

wasnt sure where to post this, so please excuse if its in the wrong section.

Building myself a computer, but with limited funds.

Should I go with something like a 2600 amd Sempron and good graphics card.
or
Amd 64 3000 and a lesser graphics card.

What I save on the MB and CPU can go to a better GC, or the other way round.

Which way to go?

I'd definetly go for the better graphics card if you wish to game. The only problem with the semprons is that they seem to all use older sockets(Socket A or 754...) which gives you a limited upgrade path...

well the question is "do you intend on playing a lot of games" if not then got with the amd64 3000 (939 skt is better for upgrade options).

If your a gamer then you'll be needing those graphics.
