Well, i kind of want a new laptop, but i think a new desktop would also be nice. i currently own a dell i9300 laptop, but it is kinda big for traveling, and it mostly just stays sitting on this desk. i've had it for 2 years now and it still preforms decently, and will let me play call of duty 2 which is pretty sweet (geforce go 6800). But the way i see it i'm a sophmore this year, so if i buy another laptop now, i'd have 2-3 years of use and then go to college with a brand new laptop. or i could get a desktop and upgrade along the way until college and then get a new laptop and keep the desktop.
IDK what really to do......or if i should just not do anything at all and just wait it out.
i've been looking at these laptops:
low end: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834210001 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834210002
mid rang: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220136
HIGH END: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220137R
i REALLY like the high end one as it is portable and has a NICE dedicated gpu, but its really quite a price leap.
for a desktop i might spend about $700 and it would deffinately take the cake for gaming, but right now all i do is play call of duty which even my current laptop can take care of.....maybe i should buy the low end for 650, upgrade to 2gb of ram on that and on this laptop now. that would only end up being like $750 or so and would give me a nice desktop replacement and a portable laptop that could handle mild gaming.
