White heat lines on monitor?

So recently after a while i get some white lines at the top right hand corner of my monitor. These get bigger and more visible as time passes by - i orginally thought this was a graphics card problem but i think it is my monitor over heating. Do you think this is what it is. What can i do if anything to stop it - can i return it to PC world for another (or is it just gonna over heat again?)

Its a 17inch LCD
 
If its overheatingl, I would jsut get another one, unless its the same type of LCD and has the same problem. put a fan near it and see if that solves the problem.
