Hi everyone, first post here.
My computer has had this problem for a quite long time. I upgraded to Windows 10 last month but even before I had Windows 7 and still had this problem of white noise coming from the headphone port. I have a Gateway NV53 that has one headphone port from the left side and that is it. I have another pair of earphones that have a volume control on it so when I bring the volume to the lowest on those, I turn up the volume on my laptop, and there is no noise. I need to wear these Etymotics ef5 sound isolating earphones as I use them for drumming to isolate the sound. I also tried using other headphones with this laptop that doesn't have the volume control on the earphones but it also has white noise from it.
I also downloaded Slimdrivers to update my drivers which it shows that there is no out of date drivers.
What can I do to eliminate this?
I also went to a computer place and they told me you can't do anything about it as it is "normal" which I believe is not true.
