Who has been connecting to my pc

Ok im a newbie here.....and i have to say im no genius with pcs either!!

I am using windows XP with the built in firewall and also run AVG virus protection. No zone alarm or anything else.
I work from home and use a logitech cam on my pc for conferencing with some work collegues. We usually use msn messanger but for a while we also had been using a program called camfrog as my collegue had problems with his msn messanger running slow on his pc.
We only used camfrog for about a week but after using it we noticed that another guy at work(who is well up on computers) mysteriously came up with the exact solutions which we had been working on and we are pretty damn sure that he somehow hacked into some of our conferences.

Is there anyway i can find a list ip addresses that have connected to my computer/webcam/microphone???

Like i say im not great with computers, so if i can find ip addresses is there anyway i can trace that ip address to a computer or a location??

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as you can imagine we lost a bit of money on this and would be great to get evidence ;o)

Cheers
Jay

I cant help you with getting it, BUT you can trace the ip to the exact computer that was using it. Again i dont know how to do either of those so really im just telling you that there is a way lol :P.

What is camfrog??
VoIP??

VoIP is very easily exploitable and prone to theft and recording.

There will be no way for you to tell who was connected to your machine...unfortunately it's like a burgler alarm. If someone breaks in and escapes before you have your alarm installed, then don't expect anyone to know about it.

-It is possible that he managed to gain access to your files through the web by connecting to your home IP address (if you're sans router)
-If you have a wireless router, it is possible that he gained access to your files by conecting to your home network from the street (wardriving)
-If you discussed or sent files over your network at work it is possible that he gained access to your files by stealing packets, or possible physical access to your machine without your consent

There are many many potential answers to this question. However, as unfortunate as it is, there is no way to determine who it was without a confession. Perhaps he didn't do anything and just happened to come up with the same idea. Great minds do think alike, and in a confined work environment who knows what he overheard or you forgot that you talked him about it at some point.

OK, now you are going to laugh at my stupidity........camfrog is a free chatting programm taht you can download on your pc which was recommended to us by the guy i mentioned before who soon afterwards came up with the same solutions that my co-worker and i had been discussing over webcam through camfrog.
This is why we are pretty sure that he somehow spied on us through webcam/mic on the pc.

All i need to know basically is...is there anywhere i can find a log of ips that have viewed my cam or listened to my audio?please let me know somebody.....

Cheers

no there isn't unless you had previously set up auditing and logging features...in which case...you'd already know where to look

to view somebody on camfrog you dont need to ask permission all you need to do is click there name and it connects...doesnt warn you who is watching.

ok, thanks alot guys.

So now i just have one more question on this....what is the best programme to use to keep a log of people connecting to my cam in the future??

You might want to get a firewall that allows logging.

You might also change chat programs and go with something that will connect you through a VPN.
