my point was that your point is wrong. Your an FPS fanboy, and to stereotype you most fps players talk shit about WoW. If you heard it then people were probably kidding, because those terms origionated from fps'. I like some fps' myself, so thank god I was blessed with an open mind.
 
ok but you have to admit that WoW is more addicting than CoD4 as far as controlling your mind and wasting money on memberships.

Although it isn't that much of a waste if you don't play a lot of other games. By my definition I do waste money then :(. But I rent a lot of the 360 games I play so I save money there. And I have a career and I'm married to a nurse, so I'm not a teenager hurting for cash.

I'm not an FPS fanboy. I just despise WoW. I like many other games, plenty of which aren't FPS'. You can't really say that they were kidding, unless you're talking on behalf of the millions of people that spend their money (Monthly!?) on WoW.

I'm open minded... Just I HATE WoW. WoW isn't a category of gaming, it's one game.

you're basicly calling everyone who played WoW stupid, well, sorry, but that doesnt do it for me. and yea, I did finnish CoD 4 under 5 hours, and I'm far from good at playing shooters. (hence I dont really like CoD4, the story was way too short.. it did have its unique moments, like the guy dying by radiation, I admit. but other than that, its not anything we havn't seen in a game already. retarded ai and run-from-a-to-b maps rather than a big map where you can choose yourself for example.

I admit that there is also quite a few retards playing WoW, simply because they play it too much, but you know, not all players are like that.

I'm curious tough, why do you 'hate' WoW? please try to explain that, I suppose pretty much in the same manner that I just explained my dislike of CoD4 I gues. ;)

I do have to agree with Calibretto's last sentence tough (I gues) WoW can be more addicting than say a decent fps, because you can 'explore' a lot more than in most, if not any fps.
but then, I dont think you should blame the game if people play too much, but rather blame the people for not knowing when its enough. ifcourse, thats just my oppinion.

The reasons that I hate WoW, possibly more than anything else... Firstly, Once you've bought the game, you then have to continue to pay for it monthly. I personally don't see how they can do that, since people have already bought the game and own a copy of it.

I have friends that play it, and when I see them playing it, they're just walking around and constantly jumping... Then, when they see an enemy or whatever they are, they constantly click their mouse at them. I just despise the way people can sit there for hours and do that, and pay for it!

When the majority of people I've heard / seen (I'm not saying that everybody who plays the game is like this) talking about the game, they take it so seriously, as if it's real. They compare species or something, talk about imaginary worlds and planets, I don't really know all the specific details. They moan about how some Elf killed them and how they attacked this castle and then flew away on their magical flying Lions. This may be just because I have listened to my friends talk about it on 76 too many occasions.

Also, Just looking at people play it gives me a seizure... With all the colours and buttons.

yeah if you get wow like the first 3 months will be fun but then youll get bored by the they pay for the blizzard servers they dont play for actual game

Well, I mean... They walk around this planet thing and just... Jump. There may be more to it that I'm missing. But, I guess you're right, There isn't much difference there with FPS'.

Maybe a little, taking cover and stuff, but then, like I said... There may be some stuff I'm missing with WoW.

haha well that's a very vague description that Korn gave if you apply it to an FPS. In an FPS, obviously you have to precisely aim depending on the distance between you and the contact. Then, depending on the gun you click once (and hold your breath if using a sniper rifle) If using an assault rifle, use quick short bursts. If using an LMG....well an LMG is example of WoW :P hahaha

Yep, spending 15 seconds of my life on weapons. Lemmy get my file and buffing pad, I dont like pointy things.

Im going to kinda skip your next paragraph because I dont agree with Danny on that one, not everyone who plays WOW is a retard. Its just the *idea* that they are playing a *bad* game that is *mentally challenging*.

I do feel Danny has already stated why its bad. Its built on a decade old engine with bad graphics. Thats not to say graphics are everything, I play an oldy called Global Operations every once in a while. Its physics as well. You swing your sword, clearly cutting into the other character and do "5 damage". The game is based entirly on points. There is almost zero skill involved. Yes, you need to know what are some good spell combination and such and what not, but you can go to a class and learn that. Its practically a turn based engine. Only with several hours of practice can you become skilled at headshots or timing your grenade throw. And when a bullet hits it kills (well...hardcore...).

It is an addiction. Its a horrible addiction. We have something like it in CSS, a mod so to speak, that the more kills you get the better guns you get (and you cant cheat). Ive played it and it was fun. But it didnt take away my LIFE. WOW makes you pay! (Self hosted servers dont count). Its the largest rip-off ever! Dont give me that "well Xbox Live". Live you get access to friends, movies, music, backgrounds, more then JUST ONE game, other FREE games, and more! Look at the ps32, it has free internet and its got about crap support.

In all honesty there is no point in arguing with people on the internet. Its like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still a retard. And no matter how much I rant, you'll still play WOW saying COD4 sucks. We will do the same except switched. Both games have their good and bads (some more bads then others *cough WOW*). But thats why *we* live in America1. So I can rant all day, but it wont make a difference because companies have the ability to make whatever games they want. And people can play whatever they want. If they want to spend their time and money getting to level 70 just so s/he can feel big (I could have ranted on this one, but felt it better to just mention it here), or spend 400$ on an iphone2 (I still laugh my tail off when I see people walking around with them XD), thats their choice.

Ok dude its understandable for you to not like WoW or any other game, but by you giving bias towards CoD your being an ignorant and your stereoypting yknow? Sure you could say all the bad things about WoW but by you doing that your just bitchin about it, why dont you take a step back and look at the flaws that CoD has? By you only pushing your own opinion your not letting yourself be enlightened in a way and your arguing immaturely. Like I said before, you may not like the game for whatever reason, and thats fine, but don't go criticizing like a madman. Just say you dont play the game and why but in a respectful way.

And this pretty much goes for all those that just went off saying how much WoW sucks and what have you..

It's not that I like WoW, in fact I didn't like it (played the trial version). But you can't be dishin' out bad stuff about Fantasy like that. I play Warcraft 3 which is by the same creator (Blizzard) but it's an RTS not a MMORPG or whatever and It also uses "Magical Staffs" and "1337 Armor" but it is the kick-ass-est (new word! :P) game ever. :)

I do recommend you get Warcraft 3. Don't worry you pay for it and it's yours, no need to pay any extra money. Once you finished the campaign, you'll know most things about it so then you'd know why some players play WoW. IMO to understand WoW better and potentially, to like it better, you need some background on everything about Warcraft, and Warcraft 3 is a prime example.

But again, I do not like WoW, I was just explaining that some people don't understand how WoW players talk about all these fantasy stuff...
 
I play WoW, have now for 4 years or however long it's been officially released. I enjoy it alot. I've had many characters over the years but now I play "casually" on Spinebreaker as a Gnome Warrior. A BG every now and then after a class or practice is a nice way to unwind before you hit the books.
