Who still plays AOE, AOE2, AOM, and AOE3?

Hey guys,
Just wondered how many of you with your fancy gaming rigs that you cool off with liquid nitrogen still play the old (well, AOE3 is only 3-5 years old) Ensemble Studios (now Robot Entertainment) games, like the original Age of Empires, Age of Empires 2, Age of Mythology, and Age of Empires 3.
I still take AOE2 for a spin sometimes, after all I got it in the middle of last year, and I play AOM a lot, it's been almost the only thing I play lately, mainly because of performance on my machine.
Gotta say there sometimes isn't anything more fun than sending your axemen to hack people, and pelting your idle villagers with catapults (like I did before I discovered the delete key :P) and watching meteorites thunder down upon the enemy base.

They are such good games.... I played them back in the day. my grandma bought them for me. She actually had no idea what she was buying at the time. She knew I likes "killing" games and saw the armies on the back of the box. I was kinda pissed at first then started playing it and loved it. Also the Rome Total War series was pretty sweet

I used to love the AOE2 demo I had, it only had one map on it and it was very limited, but I enjoyed doing it again and again. :)
I was playing AOM yesterday/today. Purchased it a few months ago but never actually got around to playing it until yesterday. So far I enjoy the nord races, the infantry build buildings, not villagers, so I'm not having to drag along a villager every time I want to set up a camp just outside enemy walls. Also, the storage buildings (for wood/gold/food) are wagons that you can move around, which is useful as creating new storage buildings as people cut down trees or mine all the gold and move away is annoying. Only played a few matches so far, so there's still heaps more units and stuff for me to discover which is always exciting.

I was never that into AOE1, probably because I played AOE2 first.

I have AOE3 and the expansions, and I'm kind of disappointed with them. The maps seem smaller and you use less troops. The deck system is alright at times but is a bit of a hassle.

I also had a star wars version of age of empires, basically AOE2 but with star wars themed characters.

I used to play both AOE and AOE2. Amazing games to say the least. I actually thought about busting them out again to play, but I don't have time for RPGs anymore :(

I still play Age of Empires 2 from time to time. The issue I have is now my disc is broken and I can't find my ISO backup ~_~

I used to play AoE 1 and 2 LOADS. I didn't really get on with AoE3, it was good, but wasn't the same.

Might have to dig out my old AoE2 disc now :)

lol, I played the AOE1 demo that was on my Windows 98 SE CD for like forever, then a friend gave me his iso images (he always seemed to end up breaking his CDs lol) of AOE1, AOE2, AOE3, and AOM. Fist thing I played out of that was AOE1 for a while, then I was stuck on AOE2 for several months, then I played with AOE3, which was like a crappy version of AOE with HQ graphics to me :o. I still play that sometimes, though not as much as AOM.
And the Norse are my favorite too :D I play as Loki a lot :)

Played AOE2 and 3 got it when i was like 12-13 :D

lol, ever played AOM? Go try it if you haven't :D

I've been playing AOM on ESO lately, and it seems like those who say they are noobs are like uber hardcore, spreading out from their base the instant the game starts, building next to your town, etc. And it's horrible. I'm a pretty good player myself, conquering 3 enemies with one ally on Titan, but this is just insane. And it's worse with the ones that claim to be hardcore, because they are like uber uber hardcore, taking you down in less than 5 minutes and winning in a 1 vs 3 game
AOE2 isn't as bad, the people on Gameranger seem pretty honest, but it's still a tough fight.
Never played online with AOE1, surprised a little that people actually do still play it online. I guess the best way to enjoy such old games lately is to play multiplayer as the AI can get very boring after a while.
I enjoy playing AOM on maps such as Norse Wars because there's no economic or strategic position advantage to be had, it's all even and it all depends on your strategy with your army.

never played it :D i'll probably get it in the future though i currently lost my aoe3 disks :( we have 2 copies and all 6 of the disks are missing lol

I have a small group of friends who get together and play AOE2 together. We did it two or three times over the summer. Definitely a lot of fun. That's a great game.

Back in high school in one of my computer classes, we used to have small AOE LAN parties of about 5-7 guys. All while during class. It was awesome.

I wish they would update AOM and put in new graphics. The races and tech and stuff is really interesting, but it gets a bit hard on my eyes after a while. Mythological monsters, gods, titans, what more could you ask for? Love the god powers, zapping the enemy with lightning bolts, setting forests on fire, earthquakes, or even turning the enemy soldiers into pigs :p

I must admit I'm pretty shit at AOE/AOM, I normally player on the normal setting, very rarely can I win one of the harder ones. :(

Strategy talk anyone?
Who here likes to build up their resources and then create a massive unstoppable army, and who likes to build a small army directly at the start to wipe out the enemy before they have a chance to get an army themselves?

What's everyone's favourite race in AOE2?
I personally prefer either the Teutons for their awesome Teutonic Knights which just pwn, or the Brits for their longbowmen (depends really who you're versing as to which is better).
