who uses 800x600?

I can see the icons and stuff very well at a resolution of 1600 x 1200. You should try it, when you do this on a CRT will with have to manual adjust your screen if you don't have the auto adjust feature. I know that most LCD screens have the auto adjust feature so you don't have to worry about the taskbar and stuff going off screen.

Your monitor must be a CRT then. :P You have to adjust it yourself, I have yet to see a CRT with an auto adjust feature. And regarding the icons being small and hurts your eyes, well firstly how far are you from the screen and secondly (no offence intended) how old are you. My desktop is at 1600x1200 and I can see EVERYTHING as clear as day.

yes its a crt...didnt i already state that? im about 4 feet away from the monitor

im a young adult, not even 25 yet. i dont use glasses or contacts

my monitor does not have auto adjust, but i got it working. anything higher than 800x600 is not for me. it hurts my eyes. maybe ill go higher when i use a new monitor but for now, 800x600 suits me just fine.

That is really weird. :S You are the only person I have even heard of going for a resolution lower than 1024x768. But I guess its ultimately your choice what resolution you use. It would a pain in the behind to view websites in that resolution though, most websites are designed for a resolution of at least 800x600. :D

I don't know how 800 x 600 can be possible to stare at for more than 30 seconds :P

Looks, 800 x 600:

and what I use, 1280 x 1024:

Thank you, Kornowski. 800x600 is unusable. And taylormsj, you are not supposed to play games with onboard games, they are not designed for that purpose. What happened to the system in your signature? :P
