Questions:
  1. Is the video card I chose decent? (If not is there a better option for around the same price?)
  2. Does thermal paste normally come with your processor?

Thanks a million,

these are rated just as well and cost a bit less, and the middle one is a 22'

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...09-256^24-009-256-TS,24-009-212^24-009-212-TS

all 3 of these can be combo'd with win7 to save money, and idk bout the cable management on the nzxt but the cooler master should be fine

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...19-233^11-119-233-TS,11-112-322^11-112-322-TS

other than that keep everything but i'd consider this combo

Could you elaborate on the motherboard critique? I have a rudimentary understanding at best. When you say multi card you are talking about Video cards?

Thanks,
JK

x16 x8 x4 are all different bandwidths that the PCI Express x16 slot can operate in. x16 is the fill bandwidth. x8 is half the bandwidth but it will not hinder the card in games. x4 is a quarter of x16 and will hold your card back. So if you were going to run two video cards, either 2 AMD cards in Crossfire or 2 nVidia cards in SLI, you want to have a minimum of x8 x8 to be sure that your get the right performance from your setup.

The board that StrangleHold mentioned is a great board.

the thermal paste does almost always come with the cpu BUT its cheap to get some that will keep your cpu a tiny bit cooler and if u have to take the cpu off for any reason you will have some to put it back on and not have to run out to the store

I've decided to go with the COOLER MASTER HAF 912 case. I very much prefer the way this one looks, and it seems to have superior cooling abilities.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233

I was thinking of buying 2 additional 200mm fans. One to mount on top and the other to mount in front. I would then move the stock front fan to the side panel. Is this good/overkill? It would be cheaper to just buy one 200 for on top and one 120 for the side.

Thanks,
JK

both ati and nvidia are great, there is no reason to go one over the other other than pure fps, anyone that says never buy one or the other is just a fanboy dip-sh1t, they either had 1 bad experience or did something stupid like overclocked it too high and amd wouldn't refund/replace it or something along those lines, so now they hate them.

and there is no need for extra fans unless you plan to overclock like he11 or live in a hot environment, but even with those 2 options better cpu cooling would be better.

Someone told me a while back not to go with ATI because they don't update their drivers enough. Is this true?

EDIT: Could be b/c he was trying to sell me an NVIDA card....

Thanks again for the help everyone!,

Not true at all.

The 120mm fans that come with the case will be enough. If you wanted to swap the intake for a 200mm and use the 120mm for the side that would be just fine too.

would recomend making sure that if you move one to the side it should preferably be set as an intake, so don't change what side is facing the outside

Thank Yall for clearing all that up! I figured that argument didn't hold any water.

As far as the extra fans, I plan on just picking up 4 cheap 120mm fans. I'm pretty sure they're the same fans that come stock with the case. I'll put on on the side and 2 on top. I'll keep the extra in case one gives out.

As far as video cards go. Would this be an acceptable upgrade over the 560?

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100314VXSR Radeon HD 6870 1GB :

would get this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521

same card and same free game, but dual fans and if you register it when you get it, you get a lifetime warranty too, so if it fails they have to replace it, and i think they will replace it with a current card that costs what that one did at launch or time of purchase or something like that, not sure though.

I tell you what man... You find some good stuff! :D:good:

pretty sure you're ready to order, but remember to buy the combos, and look at this cpu/mobo one for a little extra

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.722409.11-119-233

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.717777

z68 chipsets have ssd caching, making the ssd perform better, also remember to enable a page file on the ssd and disable it on the hdd, it's similar to ram, just throws all programs used the most on it so they will be faster

So the ASUS P8Z68-V PRO is worth the ~20 bucks b/c it is more compatible with SSDs? Sounds good to me. The GIGABYTE was a Z68 too though.

EDIT: Good find with the Case + W7 combo!

EDIT:EDIT: I have no problem with paying the extra 20 if it's better.

Also I have another question/s....

What is the weak point of the system I have above? Is it the video card?

If there is a glaring weak point what would be an easy upgrade?

Thanks again,
JK
