why almost all amd's processors have FSB: Integrated into Chip!!
is this why they said amd is better for gaimg??
intel's chipset doesnt has fsb which intergrated into chip! :confused:
 
what do you mean? just cuz it's integrated doesn't mean it's permanent. I went from 133mhz to 235mhz in a heartbeat...it's totally changeable.

Intel's are jsut the same i believe...they have 400mhz, 533mhz,800mhz,1000mhz, and AMD has 100mhz,133mhz,166mhz,200mhz...
 
FSB, or Front Side Bus is the frequency, or "speed", at which your system bus operates at. The system bus is a delicate web of traces on the motherboard that sends info from RAM, to CPU, to Video Card, and all over the place. Now about this non-integrated FBS, I've never heard of such a thing. All CPU's come with a FSB rating, AMD or INTEL. The thing is, they are customize-able eighter through jumpers on the board or thought the BIOS. Usually its just a simple multiplier. INTEL P 4's range from 400, to 800, while the AMD Athlon's range from 133 to 400. The only plus to a pentium FSB is that it's mathematically faster. For gaming however, most people say that the AMD, with a slower FSB, is better. Summary......you can change this frequency to some degree. :P

Because AMD engineers decided that would be the way to go? :confused:

For starters the newer AMD chips dont have a FSB anymore, they feature a hypertransport (which for all intents and purposes can be related to a FSB/BUS ... more so the BUS, but its a minor technicality). The advantage is that the transfer between the memory controller and the core operates at full speed rather than the traditiional "bus" speed

I think hes talking about the HTTs on the A64s.
