Why are my games lagging?

Hey!
You can see my system in the signature but here it is once more.

Mobo: ASUS M4A78T-E
PSU: Corsair 750TX 750W
CPU: Phenom ll 955BE 3.2GHz @ 3.8GHz - 33°C
CPU Cooler: Xigmatek Dark Knight
RAM: 2 x 2Gb Team Group Elite DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: 2 x Asus Radeon HD 4870 GDDR5 512Mb - CrossFireX
HDD: 1Tb Seagate Barracuda
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit (Pirate)

I'm having lag issues or more like lag spikes in games like Prototype and Need For Speed Underground 2 =DD And that sucks!
My system fills the requirements well for these games and many more games too. I can play James Cameron's Avatar The Game and some other games well without any lag issues at all :O

So I'm wonderling what could be wrong.. I have like 700Gb of free space, I have the latest drivers, i clean my register many times a week and there is no dust inside my case either :S

The games lagg on situations when it loads a bunch of stuff like city's view when you go closer and the distant graphix are being loaded better.. NFSU2 laggs especially in U.R.L's and always in the same parts of the track :/

Also.. I'm running with 2 monitors, my new 23" BenQ FullHD LCD 2ms and a old 19" Fujitsu Siemens 5ms

Maybe it's your copy of windows. There some dodgy stuff going on up at microsoft, and they're basically trying to kill every pirated copy of windows. I Don't see how that would make it lag, though, your system seems fast enough:confused:
 
I guarantee you it's the illegal copy of windows. It happened to my friend. Just go buy one and save yourself the hassle or of getting caught.

Hmm.. My friend is running the same install of this Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and he had no laggs or whatsoever when he tried to play Prototype :/

How would you explain that?

Nice mention of that (i mean the Windows part), but i am just throughing it there, two monitors strain on your computers graphics card, does your friend have dual setup as well, also do you play on both screen or just one? now i would play only on one so i guess thats what you do, but need to ask. what about your memory usage during the game. when you start the game, and reach the place where it is loading, switch to task manager and have a look, Really there could be anything. there really should be nothing interesting in the copy of your windows other than the part you mentioned if you got it from good sorce.
by the way your english is good. and nice games you play, i think they are one of my favourites, trying out the NFS shift now, look amazing, but i think the gameplay is much better in NFSUG2

Hmm. I still think it's your copy of windows, but try out using a single monitor for a while, maybe it's putting too much strain on the GPU:good:

Yeah i play only on one monitor ofcourse.. The games lagged even before when i only had the 19" LCD so that's not it :/

Yeah i love NFSU2.. Propably the best of them in my opinnion :P Don't like the gameplay and storylines so much in the newer ones :D

Yes i have confirmed that i have the latest Ati Catalyst Control Center.

I also have been thinking for a while that it can't be anything else than my OS.. I checked the thermal paste and the CPU Cooler last week and it's just fine.

I am not promoting to piracy i am mostly just telling that the pirated windows is lagging my games (maybe) :)

UPDATE!
I played Prototype on my main monitor with average settings and followed the processor and ram usage on the second monitor.
RAM usage was stable around 60% but the processor's 3 and 4 cores always went like 95% as 1 and 2 stayed stabile 30% in the time of the hugest lags.

So why is my processor taking so much load? Also the graphic settings won't affect in any way it's still the same in LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH?
My processor's temperature was around 40°C - 50°C when i was playing the game.

Now I'm going to check if i have the latest chipset drivers and else.. Might also update the BIOS if it has anything to do with this :)

I updated my BIOS and had to trickytracky my Windows through the genuine check with an activator AGAIN :D

I played Prototype now and it didn't lagg as much but had a couple of major ones.. Then suddenly the screen flashed full of lines and pixels and my pc crashed o.O

And i was liek WOOOOT o______O

Well anything plx :D

If you really want to check you could download a trial version for windows, and see if it is that... i will give you a link if you need one, or just borrow someones you know who has a Disk, and just do not enter the key, it will put you in the trial version for 30 days.
 
yea....had same problems hard stuttering in NFS U, U2 and Pro Street, gave up and uninstalled them, i think theres a tad bit too much overhead in Win7 to play NFS PS or anything EA on it....will be building a purely XP based box for those games....kinda a little annoyed at EA's sloppy code....GRID plays flawlessly on the system i have...just dies with NFS U and the others...for some reason

-tried setting affinity
-tried drivers
-tried sli/no sli
-tried turning aero off
-tried compatibility mode
-patches...you name it...i have tried it

the games just DO NOT LIKE 7 at all

do not know, playing NFS Shift, at highest settings, runs very smoothly no problems at all.

Actually playing any game so far works perfectly with windows 7, actually much more stable than any other OS from Windows.
 
Just to add are you a student, if yes you could buy one for 30 dollars, that W7 Proffesional for 30 bucks, amazing.
 
i got mine as a upgrade, i am using the retail upgrade i preordered through newegg for 100 bucks...worked fine doing a custom install, just it hates NFS Pro Street, Underground, and Underground Two, Shift may be different due to them outsourcing it to another team...which may have had less sloppy coders...
 
yeah, i will test out NFSUG and second too, later, am on holiday now so do not have the disk, will check it out. D
 
could be anything, overheating of your GPU, CPU, or not enough watts output on your PSU, or even windows glitches and virus/spyware. could be ram also
