Why can’t I post comments to YouTube in Firefox?

For about a month now I have not been able to post comments to YouTube.

I went in to my YouTube settings and changed everything only to find out I still can’t post. So just for fun I decided to go into IE and I can post there. What is going on with Firefox?

My guess would have to be something to do with flash player possibly? Check your addons for anything suspicious.

What exactly is going on? can you write but it doesn't post? Do you have the option to write comments?

Well the comment box opens and I can type with spell check, but nothing happens when I press post. I tried updating Flash Player earlier because I'm also having trouble watching news videos especially ABC news.

I just found out today it is only a problem with Firefox and now that I think about it there are other problems besides YouTube. I thought maybe it had something to do with Adblock so I turned it off, but it still doesn't work.

Oh I know I'm allowed to add comments because I've posted hundreds of comments up to just a few months ago i think it is.

Create your own thread and don't hijack.

Johnny, try Pale Moon. It's Mozilla based like Firefox and may work. At least it works for me. I did have the YT comments problem before as well, but now it works. Check out the Firefox addon YouTube center and try HTML 5 instead of Flash. Addons for Firefox will work in Pale Moon.

We have enough mods, no need for that. And since he's having a similar problem I don't see why he should create another thread.

If the problem comes from Firefox, I would suggest changing browser, I personally use Chrome.

If you want to keep FF, let's try this fix I found online:

Go to options> Privacy > exceptions and add these exceptions:
plus.googleapis.com

google.com

plus.google.com

apis.google.com

Try commenting :)

Thanks guys, I’ve been using Firefox for many years and it may be time to quit. It just seems like it’s going downhill with so many problems popping up all the time.
I’ve been avoiding Chrome because I don’t like Goggle collecting information about me as it is and to actually have their software on my computer collecting even more just makes me cringe.

At this point, it's not adding Chrome or not that will change google or other companies from collecting data. If you want, you can try other browsers such as Pale Moon mentionned above.

Well I guess you have a point. I know everybody is doing it.
I am going to remove Firefox today, but I'm going to miss a couple of FF features like the separate search box on top with the drop down search engine selection.

I haven't looked for that since I've been using Google for a while now but I'm pretty sure you can find an addon that will do the same on Chrome.

Thanks Punk, I'm going to look around some more before going to Chrome.
I was just reading through the Pale Moons reviews and Waterfox keeps coming up as a 64 bit only browser from Firefox. I wonder if that might work better since I have a 64 bit computer. I don’t know anything about it and the only review I read so far was from 2011 so I’m going to look for more current reviews and comparisons.

*sigh* Just use Pale Moon! It's just like Firefox except it doesn't have the awful UI interface and you will have the drop down search engine box like Firefox. You can install more than one browser you know. You do not need a 64 bit version, however Pale Moon comes in a 64 bit version. Or you could check out Cyber Fox, but I don't like their search engine box.

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded Pale Moon X64 yesterday and when I started to load it a popup window appeared saying that the 64 bit version had problems with most add-ons and do I really want to install it or install the 32 bit version instead so I canceled the install.
Then I stumbled on this comparison thing between Firefox vs Chrome vs Opera. Well I’ve never even heard of Opera before and I didn’t really care about most of the comparisons in the review like font scale because it’s all adjustable, so I’m still undecided.
I’m tired of comparisons and I may try the Pale Moon X64 one more time to see if any of my add-ons are affected and if so, I guess I’ll have to go with Chrome and just have blind faith in Google.

I found some other information about processors vs Pale Moon X64 and not to even consider it with Pentium III or other SSE-only x86 because it will not run.
It’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with processors and I don’t have a clue of what is being used today. I see that my computer has an AMD FX 6120 6 core processor and I can only assume that it has to be better than Pentium III.

Well I just installed pale moon x64, but I can't log in to this site. I keep getting a redirect error and I've entered the correct password a number of times so I don't know what is going on.

I'm going to have to keep working at it.

I don't know what is going on because I can log in with Firefox and IE with the same password, but not from Pale Moon

:good: OK I can log in through the link from my email but not directly  Oh well I guess that's OK

Are you entering the www in front of the address? Example www.computerforum.com. you must use the www in front.

I believe I was and then I added it to my favorites after being logged in from my email link so now I'm able to log right in with having to go through the redirect. To see if the redirect error comes back I need to log out and try it again from the start. I'll give that a try.

Ok it seem to be OK now. I don't know what was going on before.
