Why can I not play any Total war game.

I can't get playable fps in Empire or Medieval. So I gave up, and dug out my old Rome total war, and yet again No matter what the settings I'm running under 30fps. I'm clueless right now. I wanna blame my rig but Sc2 runs at a perfect 60fps maxed, and even on the Resident Evil Benchmark I average over 100fps. Helppppppppp :confused:
 
That's very odd with a system like the one in your sig. Does it actually say the fps or is your guess an estimate? Perhaps the disks are scratched? :o
We need more info.

I was using fraps like I do for all my games. The disc seriously doesn't have a single scratch. This rig would blow peoples minds with how odd it is. Some games it pounds and others it will hardly run. I'm soooo confused. I even put everything back to stock clocks thinking my oc might of messed things up but it didn't help.
 
It is not your rig at all. I play Empire Total War on my laptop almost everyday and it runs smooth. The settings are low of course but it still looks fine to play.

I assume you have the native resolution for your screen set in the game options? And you also have the latest drivers for your card? What hard drive are you using...5,900 RPM? It is a resource intensive game and I saw a change when I replaced my old 5,400 RPM junk laptop drive drive for a WD Scorpio Black hard drive.

Yes I have the latest drivers, and even tried older ones. My native res is 1920x1080 which i normally play all my games at unless there hard games to max. I have a 5,900 rpm hdd, but I no for a fact the speed isn't the problem because I had these problems with my old 7,200rpm hdd also. Hell Empire Total war runs smoother then Rome Total war does. I read somewhere online that the Total war games work horrible with the 200 series but I mean Rome Total war @ like 17fps. Bs.
 
HA I can play the first medieval total war fine. Finally my rig can handle some blurs on screen. Problem solved. I'll upgrade to Rome in a few years.
