why can't read the cd rom?

Hi need help urgently to all people here in this forum. Recently i encounter 1 problem with my laptop that is i can't read my cd rom after putting the "NEW" cd inside. But i can read those used cd rom? What had happen to my laptop?

Is my cd rom in faulty situation ?
i also can't send file to my cd rom with those used cd.

Please help thanks alot ......................
 
I think you are saying you cant read a CD which is Blank or "new", and you can't burn files to your Cd?

Is this correct?
 
Does it have a CD-RW drive in it? That is the only thing i can think of.......unless the CD-RW drive, if you have one, requires drivers....
