Just wondering what you guys think about this.
Why don't CDs/DVDs have protective cases? The important data can be easily get dirty, scratched, or destroyed. Unlike for example game cartridges or floppy disks which aren't usually opened and exposed to the elements. I think the lack of a protective case severely limits the lifetime of a disk. Why can't manufacturers have made it like an MD disc, for example?
In my school, many educational videos are still preserved on VHS tape 'cause the technician said the lifetime and durability is longer.
