why do all my large downloads end up corrupted?

i notice that all of my large file downloads (200 mb or greater) are corrupted when they finish. the most recent ones, 3dmark05, 3dmark06 and the battlefield 2142 demo i have tried about 5 times each and i have tried getting them from different sources. none of them have worked. why? its annoying as heck.
 
im using firefox 2.

and i have sattellite internet, and i hate its guts. it is nothing but problems, cuts out all the time (even on clear days) and i dont get anywhere near the advertised speeds.

Well that might be the problem if the internet breaks up, since big file take a while to download.
 
nothing i can do about it, eh? i ran a cat 5 cable to our router, so im not on a wireless network anymore. that seemed to have helped, but it still goes out alot. theres nothing the isp can do about it? how crooked is d-way? either they lied to us or there is something wrong with our system.
 
hmm....well, there is something called Star Downloader and you can pause, shedual a download and if you conection is lost it will pause itself and then resume when its back. This may help, plus its a really fast downloader, free too. I love the thing.
