Hey, I was just wondering, when i ask for recommendation, and add alienware to the topic, a lot of people dont encourage me to buy from them. I just dont understand, their price is very decent, they are specialized in gaming which is the type of desktop im looking for. So What wrong with alienware? I wish i could get some good reviews from them, i want to trust them, i want to buy their product, but i need advice from people who own alienware Pc and laptops?

Srry for my english, its not my main language, Thanks.

The main thing is with Alienware desktops is that they are owned by Dell and overpriced as you can build as good if not better machine for less money.

But the same is true for most brands isn't it? You can build better for less. They have to make some money, so they just charge more for a prebuilt.

^ Sort of. They charge more, but the components they use are cheaper. I would use a cheap Biostar or ECS motherboard in my build before I used something from a Dell. The power supplies are usually terrible as well, which is a very bad thing.

Alienware sure is expensive but their USP is the way their products look.

I sure accept that they look really really cool and I myself wouldnt pay for them untill and unless I was frkin rich.

I was planning to buy a new monitor and was looking at the Panel from Dell

e-IPS
Full HD
CCFL Backlight
8ms
23"

and another panel from Alienware
21.5"
2ms
Full HD
TN
CCFL

both panel were of the same price(the alienware was a bit more) I knew that from the above spec the Dell would obviously be the better choice but even then I had a hard time deciding b/w them.
I even knew that if I were to advice someone b/w them I would have told them to go with the Dell but when it came to me I was really very attracted to the way the alienware panel looked and how much of a show off would it be.

The alienware's are hard to resist because they look good but their steep prices ease you into staying away from them.

very well, as hard as it is for me... i wount look at alienware anymore. And its true, a high quality desktop which is what am im looking for is at 2500 dollars. I prefer getting one from cyberpowerpc...I just wish i could find a cool all in one computer preferably touch screen with a decent GRAPHIC CARD...the best ive seen is the new VAIO all in one touch screen L Series. IT can run most games, but not at high resolution which im looking for..:p ill have to wait
