I am not a computer expert:confused: so i have a problem :( my laptop periodically changes its MHz. I have 2.00 MHz but it sometimes goes down to 797 MHz. If any one has some information pleas help..thanks (its urgent because i want to get the game oblivion)

Its called Speedstep, it downclocks the CPU to save battery power and reduce the amount of heat it produces. It's perfectly normal, my cpu downclocks to 1Ghz when its not doing anything major. When you play Oblivion, it will be running at 2Ghz.

kool...i barely make the minimum requirements for oblivion...i do this check on gamespot.com that tells me if i pass or not...last time my comp said it had 2.00MHz...now it says 797MHz..will this affect me being able to play a game?

im not sure...Dell notebook 16000 Intel {R} Pentium {R} M processor 2.00GHz 797 MHz, 1. 50 GB of ram

Ok, so you have a Pentium M. With the Pentium M and Core Duo series, you cant really go by they Ghz requirement, since they mainly refer to Pentium 4's which are clocked higher. Your CPU will be fine for running Oblivion, and it should run at 2Ghz during the whole game.

The only thing that may be preventing you from playing is your video card, is yours integrated or dedicated?

Well its better than integrated, so you should be able to play that game, bust most likely at low settings.

i was thinking of playing it on like the crappiest settings...
it sucks too because i cant upgrade my bros. laptop and my pc sucks ---..yeah u have a nice computer though X1400

i have been seeing vids on youtube and video reviews and im hooked..i want to buy it today but my bro isnt home..
