why does my Compact Flash card crap out

why do my Compact Flash Cards crap out every 8-10 months?

Do you think it is because i buy lesser know brands on sale, becasue i buy 1-2 gig cards, or do they just die from overusage?
 
I have a 256MB flash disk that when you save single large files upto 200MB the file is corrupted when you execute it.

but I can save small files upto 200mb and excecute them
