Why does my computer crash!?

Guess what....lol... they are up to date, i use power DVD but that freezes, also use wmp that freezes, used nvidias dvd thing.....That just comes up with an error :(

I have never had this much trouble with a pc before! grr
 
I dont have any but the region is set to region 2 and ive tryed multiple DVDs.

The thing that gets me is that it is just DVD films which do this, i have a nvidia dvd codec for wmp, when i 1st installed that a dvd played fine on it but then i put in a different film but it continued to freeze! i have reinstalled the codec/encoder but no luck. :(
 
There could be a conflict between all the programs. Uninstall EVERYTHING that involves the drive ie MP10. Then install one program, and try it.
 
Do you have an ASPI layer installed? If you've got the newest one you might consider 4.60 which is well known to be rock solid.

Inspect all the pins on the drive & mobo, make sure they arnt bent. Is it only with DVDs?

There is a way to do so without having to reformat and reinstall. Though starting fresh has always seemed like a good idea to me.
