why does my computer keep restarting

:confused: i thinki have broke my brothers computer could some one please help me. i was took my brothers hard drive out of the computer and replaced it with my owni put every thing bak and closed up the case now everytime i turn the computer on it resets itself does any one have any ideas what might of happened here ? please help or i will have to pay my bro for tha com :|
 
At what point does the computer reset? Does the hard drive have an operating system on it? Or is it a secondary hard drive you're talking about? And are all the power cables and data cables securely fixed in their sockets?
 
i will explain tha problem a bit better i dont think its what you said the hard drive is in fine i think i may of noked something else out is this possible ? it loads up n opens tha programs it automatically opens n then it resets :S
 
haha cunny funt tried tha ive knocked something out but i dont no what how is puttin my brothers ard drive back in guna help ?:S

You said your problem started when you put your hard drive in right? Windows will not boot changing hard drives unless you reformat that drive and reinstall windows with that hard drive in that computer, if I took out my hard drive and tried to use it in another computer as the master drive it would not work, it would not recognise the bios!

You can put it in as a slave (2nd hard drive) and read it but you cant use it as the master without reformating and reinstalling OP so the fix is simple reinstall brothers hard drive!

Not if it's the one you've just taken out. All you'll need to do is set it up as the boot device in the BIOS (if it's not set up by default).
 
if i put my hard drive in as a second hard drive will i avto reformat my brothers hard drive and mine to get it to wrok
 
No, of course not, each drive is independent. So long as you set the jumpers correctly on them to slave and master, the BIOS will detect them both, then it's just a case of making sure the boot drive is set correctly in the BIOS.

I have a question. if you took out your brother's hard drive and put yours in before all this happened, why didnt you run into any problems then?
