Why does my new Alienware 17 freeze

I got a bran newalienware17 laptop and I will get amazing fps and then all of a sudden it freezes when I play anything like borderlands 2 or skyrim but I haven't had problems with Gmod yet (btw I have been playing only steam games) and when it freezes I have to shut down the PC and start it back up its has 16gb of ram and 2 terra bytes and about a 100gb ssd plus a gforceGTX 1070 and Windows 10 how can I fix I can't figure it out

Brand new means you have a warranty, take it in to have fixed. Most likely a hardware issue. Could be bad hard drive or even video card or something else.
