Why doesn't my computer POST when I overclock?

Good Ol' Ramos

Specifically, when I get to a certain MHz, I restart the computer and it'll take two restarts before it posts. What is the computer trying to do and is failing at, or what is it trying to tell me... ?

Does it only happen right after OCing? and does it go away after it does POST? I know sometimes after I OC it won't post till I reset, after that it works fine.

I dunno, maybe it's just our Athlons being fussy..

I remember kornowski (a member here) said his e6300 does the same thing. Nothing ever bad has happened to me, so it should be alright.

it sounds like you have reached the limit for the setup (unless your ram is holding you back)
you cant expect it to OC for ever!!!!

You're trying to tell me that sometimes after OCing when my PC won't POST immediately after exiting that I've reached my limit? Tell that to my chip.. all further boots occure flawlessly. I more think it's my system adjusting to the rather large (for an athlon) HT jump.

I tried all that. Maybe I'm misreading my PC, but it seems as though anytime I change anything besides the clock speed (HT, RAM MHz, voltages, etc), the PC won't POST.

Is your Motherboard Bios revision up to date? I can't really see what the problem/solution is, it could be as simple as you MB being alittle too sensitive.
