why is intel cheaper?

Probably because people do alot more gaming, so the market for gaming CPUs is way up so AMD raises their prices to make more money.

Just a guess though.

Economies of Scale, intel sells more

X2s are just plain out better...

actually, AMD sells more, but Intel makes more profit cus they overprice alot of their processors

No, Intel makes more profit because they sell more. AMD just sells more CPUs

AMD may sell more retail, but Intel sells the most processors overall to computer companies like Dell, which actually keeps Intel in the lead of selling the most processors.

o.. somewhere i heard that in 05 AMD sold more processors, but that Intel made more profits...
Because Intel makes things like motherboards and other stuff. Also, like Clutch said, they have direct selling links with other crappy companies like Dell. :D I love bashing Dell.

Dont AMD sell more CPUs and intel sell more chips on motherbroads, sound cards, wifi and such.

And when i said sell more i ment sell more chips overall

Maybe intel is tired of overpricing there cpus?

Economies of Scale is why Intel, Walmart, and Dell are so cheap.

This is why Verizon can offer 14.95 DSL

THere are just so many examples

yeah i thought that intel would sell more so they can afford to sell at a lower price. still as most people said they are not quite as good as the X2's
