Why is it illegal ???

It's not illegal, it's just not allowed by Mac, meaning that it's not actually against the "law".

Well, doing it would be a violation of contract, which is against the law, right?

haha. i want to just install it on my comp, go over to the mac store, complane that something is not working and see what they do :D

JK :P

No it is illegal, you are agreeing to a non disclosure agreement and an end user license agreement when you hit the "i agree" button on your install. If you read through it, it clearly states that Apple software is licensed for apple branded computers only.

You also have to hack around the TPM, which is illegal by intellectual property laws and various privacy laws and corporate laws, to install it. So the very nature of installing it on a non Apple computer is illegal by the means necessary to accomplish the task.

i assume it will still be illegal even in vm :rolleyes:

I can quote this from an Apple engineer, there will never be OS X virtualized. I know, this is ridiculous beyond any sort of logic but that is Apple's response when I talked to one of their engineers face to face. So, if you get it to work on a VM, then you are hacking it, which makes it illegal, plus it will be hacked and less stable.

We have to give it time I guess.

ugh... stupid laws  somethings you just have to say that is too stupid. i mean, you pay for the os you should be able to use it anyway you want. ugh

I agree 100% but if you really look at it, technically you don't own the OS, you are actually leasing it. I know weird concept, but it is in place for valid reasons but at the same time the valid reasons can make it ridiculous. All I can say is, welcome to technology and how it works!:D

psh leasing is expensive :P just like money. government cant live with it cant live with out it (so they say :D)

thats just apples EULA guys, we can't change them or call apple and make them change it, lol, thats how it will always be, i highly doubt there will be a day when an apple os will be free for use or the like
