Why is my 3800 X2 registering at 1.99GHz

I have just realised that my CPU is now registering as 1.99 or 1.98 GHZ but it used to say 2.0 GHz as it should - any idea why this has happened?

Some motherboards lower the FSB by 1 or .1Mhz, it's no big deal at all, and is common with pre-built PC's.

Really... do you care about a loss of 1-10Mhz?

This computer (AMD 1800+) Sometimes starts at 1466mhz, or 1500mhz.
I'm not sure if there's a method to the madness, but I don't really care :p

its only a 2ghz proc? i always thought it was faster. even my 3400 has a higher clock speed. 2.4ghz. (yea, i know, only one core.)

if ur not satisfied with ur processors few mhz under what it should be then maybe you should get into the big boys toy's of mobo's that can overclock cpu's and getout the prebuilt computers ...
