This is my 2nd attempt at the post because in the previous one the computer crashed.
So, I had trouble with a '$I30 file 29' error, which ended up in me reinstalling windows. The whole thing.
Now, just TWO days after the clean reinstall, my computer is encountering a lOT of errors. It's taken me 1 hour to get my computer working today.
Basically, I was playing a game (WoW), and it froze. Hit the reset button.
'Overclocking Failed' (I've gotten this numerous times on my attempts to start the computer today).
Ok? What overclocking? Anyway, I carry on. I got to the log-in screen, and logged in. It froze. This happened LOTS of times (reboots, overclocking failed, freeze). Cue 'Your system has recovered from a serious error' on the times it did manage to get in.
Then on one freeze, it comes up with the blue screen (only for a short second or two) saying 'Kernel_data_inpage_error'. It went too fast for me to read any more.
Computer resets, and when it logs on this time, it has the windows classic interface (the grey squarey one) and no sound. I tried to shut down the computer, which doesnt happen. Reset button.
Cue a lot more frozen log-in attempts, and blue screens. Finally after leaving the computer switched off for a short while, I manage to log in. Whilst writing this post for the first time, I put on iTunes and started listening to music. Computer crashes.
So, this leads me to believe it -might- be an error with my sound card/drivers. Could it be? And why am I encountering so much trouble with a fresh installation?
EDIT: Well, I've put on iTunes and there hasn't been a problem yet. So maybe it isn't the sound card.
