Why is my lappy lagging?

Hey guys, so I have a dell xps m1710
windows vista
2 gig ram
nvidia geforce go 7950gtx
100 gig hard drive
intel dual core 1.33 ghz processor

Now my problem is that when trying to run call of duty world at war, it lags.
I know my computer is a bit out dated, but is it lagging because of everything or would I be able to fix it by adding another gig of ram?

I think it is video lag, you will need a better graphics card to run COD4 smoothly, I think it can be run on an 8600 and definitely on a 8800 but get the 9 series they are around the same price just the updated version like the 9600 and the 9800
 
i would either upgrade my video card or put in another 2 gigs of ram, just the two gigs you got in there right now vista will eat away at just at idle, so you need more then 2 not to lagg at about anyhting
 
I'm running vista on 1GB and I am fine, 2GB is fine, the main problem would be the video card and if you can then upgrade the RAM with it, not before the video card though.
