why my pc work slow ?

i have a p4 system,and well it was working well but from a few days i am having a bad problem of slow processing.i think it may be due to virus,but some times i feel is there anything like software conflict ?

naaaa i dont think so but just wanna know about it is there anything like this ?
 
what's the clock speed of your P4? and maybe you'll need to add more RAM. how much RAM do you have on your system?
 
What is the RAM in your computer? You could upgrade the RAM if you want.

Or you can download CCleaner from here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
To clean the temporary file, registry problem, etc., etc.

Also download a couple of anti-spyware program and do a scan to remove any that are in your computer. Don't forget to do an anti-virus scan also just to make sure.
 
yeah using cleaner will help alot, also depeding on the type of software your running, you might need more ram like jnskyliner suggested. also, depending on how long you have had it, you might want to clean up the dust that slowly added up in your computer case
 
Slow Performance can lead to a number of factors. CPU Type/Speed, RAM Type/Speed/Latency, Motherboard Specs, etc. Alot of the virus cause the CPU Usuage to rack up and can delay performance. You may want to buy a whole new computer and or parts to get a demanding system. Or you may want to upgrade RAM or Motherboard.

Vista? How much memory? What programs? Computer specs?
