Why SLI?

Why should I buy a mobo that is SLI and Cross Fire ready? Would I be limiting myself if I didn't? I hardly game. The gpus I'm considering are Gigabyte Radeon HD 4670 512MB and the Sapphire Radeon HD 3870. If you'll notice both have HDMI out. How big a deal is that?

You pretty much answered your own question, if you don't game often and don't plan on having multiple GPU's, then there's no reason to get an SLI/CF capable motherboard. In all honesty, people who think they will do SLI/CF buy one card to begin with, but when they want to upgrade their video card it's cheaper and/or better performance to just get a newer single card.

I'd have to agree with OMEGA, with the way technology is moving today 90% of the time it is just a better idea to upgrade your existing card, rather than adding another one.
