Why so hot!??

My computer, doing nothing is running at 74c and i have 2 120 mm fans and 3 80 mm fans going. I have the 4850 series with the 8.8 hotfix and its still hot!? why could this be?
 
So its just the graphics GPU running hot or CPU aswell? graphics cards do run alot hotter than CPU because of their lower Mhz.

have you got your computer located within a cupbourd or rear of it too close to a wall?

How big is your computer case?

...umm...lower MHz means it runs cooler... generally, Graphics cards run cooler because they don't have as effective coolers due to space limitations... but if you have a good-quality dual-slot cooler, you can get your load temps really low.

The 4850 cards run hot by nature, there's a manual fix for it, involves editing some XML file... someone here would know.
 
the 4850 is just generally hot. Very hard to get them under 60. it normally runs at 80-90 under load - any more is bad.
