i tried to use S-Video to use the TV instead of the monitor to watch some movie
anyway
i noticed that the text is not very clear and i can hardly read it it bothers me alot and also i cant look directly at the TV for more than 1 min it hurts my eyes

anyone know how can i improve this ?

bottom line, you can't get much better at all with s-video. I've tried it on an HDTV and a CRT (both ~ 32-37 inches). You could get an adapter for an analog connection from your monitor connection, but I don't know how much better it will be (my guess is it will be a good steop higher than s-video). So, if you happen to have something like HDMI or some better connection, that would be the way to go.

its the bad resolution and the bad refresh rate.... and i dont know what your talkin gabout, i hooked up my computer to a 32" DVI HDTV and saw everything clear, so dont say its not possible... and btw, Analog is worse the Svideo

Its not the "s-video". S-video can pervide excellant quliity as Ku said. It's the TV itself, TV's are not made for comptuers, and they have very low resalutions, and low max fps.

A standard TV runs at 720x480, interlaced. A computer runs at a much higher resolution, NON-internlaced. The conversion there, and flicker-filter(converting from interlaced to not) is what makes it so bad.

There is nothing you can really do. If you whatch tv you can still notice the blurryness when reading text from close up, so its the tv.

well, you need a NICE TV to show text clearly enough, but you said you tried HDTV, so it's probably just an old video card. If you have lots of money to spare grap a Radeon 9250 PCI 256mb and that should do just fine, but first I would try the adapter. I've hooked my card up to my TV and it's not clear, but then its a 200 dollar 27" TV, so that's a no-brainer. The 9250 uses a composite out.

ya youd think a tv with an svideo port would have better video qualities options ot hook up from your computer. But like i said before the quality is pro when i watch moveis from my computer how does this make a difference opposed to text and toolbars.

what i really need is a scientific explaination for what's happening....
