why VAIO laptop does not have a VAIO drive

Some new laptops don't come with dvd drives anymore. Its gonna be the new norm soon.
 
What do you mean a VAIO drive? What is a VAIO drive? Do you mean a DVD/Blu-Ray optical drive? Not all laptops have them.
 
It's because every manufacturer doesn't name the second partition after themselves. Sometimes there is only 1 partition.

C: is the main boot/data drive, and "Lenovo" is a recovery partition. Not all computer have them, it varies from computer to computer.
