Why would the 945P go for more than 945G?!?

Makes no sense to me but it seems every Mobo manufacturer prices the 945P for more than the 945G. I mean they are both identical except for the fact that the 945G got an integrated graphics accelerator (check lintel's compression).

I thought logically the 945G would be priced for more, since it offers more. So what gives for this illogical price difference or am I missing something?!?

PS. Some times the difference is $10 or more in favor of the 945P, like in Asus case for example.

I think they do it for marketing purposes but it is strange as to why they do that.
 
I think that the idea is most people would assume that a motherboard without onboard video would be better than one with, which on the whole, is true, even though these are basically the same motherboard.
 
manufacturer's are taking note that more buyers of computer components are buying stuff that supports the most possible configurations instead of being tied down with the integrated solutions (ex. the fact that you can put nearly any video card in the 945P, as long if it fits the interface)... so they are taking advantage of it and getting an extra few bucks out of the deal...
 
Same reason ATI still charged more for the 9800 when the newer x800 and x900 came out. To make money off of goofy people :)

I dont know, actually, probably just a pricing goof.
 
Well look around... prices are higher for a lot of lesser stuff... look at IDE hard drive prices compared to SATA... they're usually higher.
