...i have used Norton ever since i had a computer...(6yrs?) and never had a virus, trojan, never been hacked, anything. i have had adware though...simply gotten rid of of course. some people odnt trust it, but i've never had a problem with Norton software. it's saved me a lot of times by catching alot of spyware and stuff. get a router and a firewall, and adware remover program...that should keep you mildly safe. i suggest norton though to finish the job or prevent it all together.

The fact is the computer runs a bit faster if it have no antivirus on it. And as long as you won’t open mail attachments like "Anna_Kournikova_naked.jpg.scr" or run programs from dubious sources, you’ll be fine. Of course there’s a chance to be virused by other means, but no antivirus will give you 100% safety.
Personally I hate Symantec’s security products -- I had a lot of networking problems because of them...

i meant the network has problems every once in a while. such as computer crashing, internet connection failure, hardware malfunction. those arent antivirus problems..thats what my dad gets for having PIII 900mhz servers. there just old thats all. but they only screw up about once a month...soon to be replaced i think.
