Widescreen Monitor for gaming?

LCDs are better than CRTs(imo) as long as the response time is low and the native resolution is something your video card can handle. I've tried looking for that model and I've found a lot of similar ones, but if the reviews and specs on those are any indication then that monitor should be great. The only problem you may have with a widescreen monitor is that some really old games won't support higher resolutions.
 
Look for the L204wt. It's exclusive to future shop right now. Contrast is 2000:1.

-Response time is 5 ms which is very good

- 20 inch

- resolution up to 1650 x 1050. Try not to go whit 1280 x 900 cuz in widescreen it not enough for image quality.

CRTs are better than LCDs in everything except size.CRTs have 0MS,which means they respond faster,CRTs display true blacks while an LCD shows them as grey,a CRT doesn't come at a recommended resolution.CRT flat monitors KICK ASS

yeah but newer LCD's and newer technology is closing that gap. and right now people are taking the size part of the deal

It still takes time for the particles emitted from the electron gun to hit the phosphor coated glass. So in otherwords, CRT's do not have a 0MS response time, contrary to what you seem to think.

Newer LCD's reproduce blacks pretty close to CRT level.

Go to any CRT monitor on that page and you will see a reccomended resolution for the monitor.
 
Ya but with an LCD,you aren't really free to change the resolution,you get what you get with a little leeway,but not huge jumps while a CRT will work fine on different resolutions.CRTs don't have 0ms ya..but its lower than 1,it was just a rounded figure,and all lcds i still have seen still dont display new blacks,granted i cant get my hands on the top of the line to see for sure.And my crt hasn't hurt my eyes in a while,that might just be me though.
