Widescreen vs Fullscreen

I was having a debate with somebody and wanted to clarify a few things.

Ok, so... Widescreen being 16:9 ratio and Fullscreen being 4:3 ratio.

Take a typical 22" Widescreen monitor, with a resolution of 1680x1050.

Also, a typical 19" Fullscreen monitor with a resolution of 1280 x 1024.

If you were viewing ComputerForum on a Widescreen monitor, would everything just be further apart. So, there'd be more white between the Topic Header on the left, and the last post on the right, Yeah?

When reading a page of text, say something like Wikipedia. Wouldn't there be more text on a page when viewing it with a Widescreen monitor, because you'd be able to fit more words to a line, right?

Can anybody post comparison pictures between a regular 4:3 monitor and a 16:9 monitor viewing the same page, please?

I was also trying to explain, if you were viewing an image on a 19" 4:3 monitor. An image that's 1280 x 1024 pixels for example. When viewing it on the 19" monitor, there'd be no scrolling to do as it'd fit the screen. When you view it on a (for example, again) a 22" 16:9 monitor (with a res of 1680x1050). The image would fit, wouldn't it, but you'd be left with white either side of the image, where there are no pixels to fill. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, do web-pages looked squashed when viewing them with a Widescreen monitor?

Sorry for all the questions! :P
