windows problem

i have just bought a second hand desktop that came with xp pro installed but i do not have a xp pro disk is it possible to copy windows off my hard drive and get the COA or will i have to just go and buy a copy only if anything goes wrong with windows i will not be able to correct it without a disc.all i have is xp home. thanks in advance

You can't copy the windows XP files like that and keep them in a safe place so that you copy them back if anything happened. This process does not work in 85 % of the cases. You can use one of the mirroring programs, like Norton Ghost, it's a program which takes an image of a partition you specify and if anythign goes wrong you can restore everything as it was using the same program back again. It's something like backup and restore.

Otherwise, ask the company you bought the PC from to supply you with an emergency or recovery CD.
