wierd problem !!

After playing a long time of WoW the game sometimes crash and goes to desktop , but the wierd things is the screen is pixeled and the colours are wierd and messed up .Also the screen resolution seems to have been increased ! I though it might be my gpu temp but its only 68 at max , can someone help me ??
 
do you have your video card over clocked, or has the fan on your video card stopped functioning?
 
i dont know how to 'clock' my video card and my fans are still working i cheked and removed all the dust .
 
artifacting is generally a sign of your video card going bad, sorry for the bad news. Other time when overclocking a video card the video can become unstable, that is why I asked that question.
 
Not necessarily. I thought I damaged my card after a volt mod, but recently found out using the most recent nvidia drivers fixed everything.

So, try uninstalling your drivers using Driver Cleaner. Then, go to either the Ati or Nvidia website, or use Google, and search for most recent drivers.
 
Drivers should not cause artifaction or discoloration, that is typical usually of firmware level or hardware failure. I have not really seen a driver fix artifacting on the screen
 
Well, my previous driver (which, at ONE point, worked perfectly fine) resulted in ATI Tool Stress Test always artifacting, some minor artifacting in 3DMark06, and a 700-ish point drop in my score at stock. (I even soaked the card in Isopropyl Alcohol to clean it, which didnt help).
