Personally, I have trouble trusting anything made by Rosewill, and the Edimax looks like it's gotten pretty good reviews. As far as resolving the distance issue, either put a range extender in or replace the source and receiver with and N standard point and card.

precisely what i was thinking. go with a known brand like netgear, dlink or linksys. i've also used a belkin card in the past and it didn't give me any problems.
