WiFi Hot Spot Question

I just got a new laptop and twice now at two different wifi spots, it didn't pick anything up, i restarted and it got em at full strength....any reason? seems to be fine most of the time and no problems...ACER 1.6ghz, 2gb ram on Vista by the way..

software issue? what are you using?

I'm not using any particular software, ACER has the signal up technology but i have the acer extras turned off, so its just using whatever is default I guess....maybe I'll have to turn the acer extras back on since its specially designed for that.
