wifi problems with laptop

i have a dell inspiron with windows 10 (same problem with windows8). I constantly struggle to connect to wifi. Now, it is connected to the router/modem but signal is limited. Thus, i don t have access to the internet. Sometimes there are no problem. I can connect with my cellphone easily. Always a issue with my laptop. Sometimes it helps to restart my laptop but it waste a lot of time. And sometimes i need to restart 3 times.
I am also referring to wifi hotspots in town that i cant restart or manage

Is this an older inspiron or newer? Was windows 8 the original OS? Go into device manager and look under network adapters and tell me what it says for the wireless card.

Yes, windows 8 was the original Os.
